Marketing Database Analyst

Responsibilities

Overview
The marketing and business development team at The Jordan, Edmiston Group, Inc. (“JEGI”) is looking for an organized, diligent and detail-oriented person, who enjoys marketing, business development, data and research. The Marketing Database Analyst is responsible for overseeing the firm’s marketing databases and supporting the firm’s business development and broader marketing efforts. This position reports directly to the Marketing Director, with limited reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).  This role is an integral part of the ongoing growth, evolution and success of JEGI and includes the following responsibilities:

1. Database Marketing & Management

  • Manage the firm’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Database, including updating existing information and adding new records to the database
  • Search for relevant companies, buyers and investor groups to add to the CRM Database
  • Identify interesting companies that could become JEGI clients in the next 12-24 months
  • Manage the firm’s M&A Transaction Database, including conducting research to source new transactions and find deal metrics (i.e., deal size, multiples, deal structure)
  • Manage the firm’s other proprietary marketing/business development tools and databases
  • Assist in constructing new proprietary tools and databases, as needed
  • Take on research projects focused on such areas as buyers, prospective clients, and markets, as assigned
  • Organize and maintain various mailing and invite lists

2. Marketing & Communications

Support the firm’s marketing initiatives to include:

  • JEGI produced events, such as its annual conference, dinners and other live events
  • Digital marketing and social media efforts, including the firm’s web site, e-mail communications, Twitter and LinkedIn feeds, Facebook page, etc.
  • JEGI’s quarterly newsletter and other marketing collateral
  • Assist in planning the firm’s social responsibility efforts
  • Other marketing projects, as needed
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree, with exposure to data, marketing, and/or business
  • Strong academic record
  • Interest in the media, marketing and technology industries
  • Excellent analytical, research and communication skills
  • Comfort with quantitative information and the ability to recognize key trends and indicators
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within identified timeframes
  • Strong work ethic and team orientation
  • High level of energy, enthusiasm and integrity
