M&A volume and value in the media, information, marketing, healthcare and technology sectors fell in the first half of this year compared with the year-earlier period, according to Jordan, Edmiston Group’s “First Half M&A Report.”
Hill+Knowlton Strategies, a subsidiary of WPP, has acquired Group SJR, a digital marketing communications company with clients including Dell Inc., General Electric Co., the Motion Picture Association of America, TED Conferences and Xerox Corp.
As ecommerce companies continue to encroach on brick-and-mortar stores, investment firm HGGC believes MyWebGrocer, can help traditional retailers push back against ecommerce giants like Amazon.
HGGC said it made a growth equity investment in MyWebGrocer Inc., a provider of digital marketing services for grocery stores and global consumer packaged goods companies.
HGGC said on Tuesday that it has completed an investment in MyWebGrocer. No financial terms were disclosed. Also, as part of this transaction, the Stripes Group,a minority investor in MyWebGrocer, has sold its stake. The Jordan Edmiston Group served as financial advisor to both MyWebGrocer and Stripes Group.
