JEGI Represents dmg world media in Sale of Canadian Gift Shows to Canadian Gift and Tableware Association

New York, NY April 12, 2010 – The Canadian Gift and Tableware Association (CGTA) announced today that it has acquired the Alberta Gift Show and the Montreal Gift Show from dmg world media (Canada) Inc., a division of Daily Mail & General Trust plc. The shows serve the regional needs of Canadian giftware, home decor, housewares and tabletop suppliers.

The Jordan, Edmiston Group, Inc. (JEGI) (www.jegi.com), the leading independent investment bank for media, information, marketing services and related technologies, represented dmg world media in this transaction and acted as its exclusive financial advisor.

“We are delighted that the Alberta and Montreal gift shows have been added to our national trade show portfolio,” said Peter Moore, Executive Director of the CGTA. “They are exceptionally well executed events, with robust business models, generating incredibly productive opportunities for supplier and buyer interactions. Over the years, DMG has built a first class team of people who will fit comfortably into our culture. We’re proud to have them join our organization.”

The entire DMG show team will join the CGTA, producing the Edmonton and Montreal events from the newly expanded CGTA offices in Toronto.

The Alberta Gift Show has operated for more than 40 years. Events take place in February and August of each year at the Northlands facility in Edmonton. The Alberta Gift Show is the second largest trade-only event of any industry in Western Canada, attracting over 12,000 attendees and more than 550 exhibitors to each show. National suppliers use the Alberta Gift Show as an opportunity to conduct business face-to-face with their Western retail partners. These shows offer the most cost effective and efficient means for Western manufacturers, importers and wholesalers to showcase their products to regional buyers.

In existence for over 50 years, the Montreal Gift Show takes place each March and August at the Place Bonaventure facility in downtown Montreal. As the only gift show in the province of Quebec, each event attracts more than 8,400 attendees and over 350 exhibiting companies. Canadian suppliers with a national presence join regional manufacturers, importers, wholesalers and distributors to exhibit at this unique event. French manufacturers and exporters also use the show to access and build market share in the predominantly French speaking province.
